World T20: Mithali accuses Diana of favoritism, says coach Powar insulted
New Delhi: Senior Indian cricketer Mithali Rajan made serious allegations against the Cricket Administrator’s Committee (COA) member Diana Edulji and coach Ramesh Powar. He said that some people want to ruin their career.
In the case of the women’s T20 World Cup semi-final being played against England, Mithali broke the silence for the first time. COA member Diana Edulji defended Mitali’s decision to step out. Mitali said that Diana is misusing his position against me. For the first time in my 20-year career, I felt humiliated. I was forced to think that some of my services have no importance to those who want to ruin my career.
Mitali wrote this in the letter to BCCI CEO Rahul Johri and GM Saba Kareem. “I am not against our T20 captain Harmanpreet but he supported the decision to keep me out of coach Ramesh Powar who felt painful to me. I wanted to win the World Cup for the country.
Mitali criticized Diana Edulji for supporting herself in the decision to step out of the team. He said, I always respected Diana but never thought that they would take advantage of their position against me.
Mitali said that coach Ramesh Powar repeatedly insulted me, when I used to talk to him, he started looking at the other side or looking towards the phone. I told everyone that I was feeling humiliated.
